BAQUACIL® Metal Control : Product Information

Baquacil® Metal Control contains one of the strongest and most effective products available for deactivating metals in pools treated with Baquacil® Swimming Pool Sanitizer and Algistat. Baquacil® Metal Control should be included as part of the normal pool maintenance program along with Baquacil® Swimming Pool Sanitizer and algistat, Baquacil® Oxidizer and Baquacil® Algicide. This product should not be used in pools treated with chlorine or bromine sanitizers.

Use Cases

Baquacil® Metal Control should be added in these situations:

  • When starting a plaster pool on Baquacil® Swimming Pool Sanitizer And Algistat, Baquacil® Metal Control must be used regardless of metal test results. Circulate the pool water for 8-12 hours after addition and before adding Baquacil® Swimming Pool Sanitizer and Algistat.
  • Any time metals are detected in water analysis
  • When a pool is filled
  • During spring start-up or when significant amounts of makeup water are added through the season.

Directions For Use

Add Baquacil® Metal Control as prescribed below by sprinkling powder around the perimeter of the pool or by dissolving dose in a plastic bucket of water and pouring the solution around the perimeter of the pool.

Initial Dose

  • Add one container (1 1/4 lbs) of Baquacil® Metal Control per 10,000 gallons of pool water to control up to a total of 2 ppm of metals present (for example, 1 ppm copper and 1 ppm iron)
  • If your pool water contains exceptionally high levels of trace metals (for example, from the use of copper based algicides) consult your Authorized Baquacil® Dealer for special dose recommendations.

Maintenance Dose

Add 1/2 container (approzimately 1/2 lb) at spring start-up for 10,000 gallons of pool water or when significant amount of fresh makeup water is added to the pool.

Important: Do not pour Baquacil® Metal Control into the skimmer.
